We read everything. Tariff corrections get priority — if a rate on this site disagrees with your bill or your DISCOM's order, that is the most useful message you can send us, and we would rather hear it from you than leave it wrong.

Report a wrong tariff or rate

The single most valuable thing you can send us. Our rates come from published tariff orders, but orders get revised, and some states publish schedules we have not audited yet — pages carrying a "Rates not yet re-checked" badge are ones we know are overdue. To let us act on it quickly, include:

  • Your state and DISCOM (e.g. Maharashtra / MSEDCL)
  • Your consumer category and sanctioned load, as printed on the bill
  • What we show versus what your bill shows — the specific line, not just the total
  • A link to the tariff order, if you have one

Please redact your account number, address and phone number before sending a bill image. We do not need them to check a rate, and we would rather not hold them.

Corrections and complaints about a guide

If a guide is wrong, unclear, or out of date, tell us which page and what is off. We publish a visible Updated date on every guide and change it when the content changes, so a correction is traceable rather than silent. See Methodology & Accuracy for how we source and verify.

Partnerships and press

Consumer-finance publications, solar installers, EV and smart-home apps, RWAs and housing societies — tell us what you need and we will say plainly whether we can help. We are happy to answer questions from journalists about how Indian retail tariffs are structured, and to point you at the primary orders rather than to ourselves.

What we cannot do

To be straight with you about the limits:

  • We are not your DISCOM. We cannot pay, correct, or dispute your actual bill, change your tariff category, or alter your connection. Only your utility can.
  • We cannot give legal or regulatory advice or represent you before a consumer grievance forum or Ombudsman.
  • We cannot access your utility account. Never send us a DISCOM password, OTP, or payment detail — we will never ask for one, and anyone who does is not us.

For a billing dispute, your route is your DISCOM's consumer grievance redressal forum, then the Electricity Ombudsman for your state. Our calculator is useful for showing what the bill should be before you file.

TheDiscomBill is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any DISCOM, State Electricity Regulatory Commission, or government body. Figures on this site are provisional estimates — always verify against your printed bill.
