MPMKVVCL New Connection 2026: Saral Sanyojan, Charges, Documents & Status

9 min read · Updated 8 September 2026 · TheDiscomBill Editorial · How we source our rates

For a new MPMKVVCL electricity connection, use the official Saral Sanyojan portal. Choose New Connection (LT), complete the applicant and premises details, review the agreement and pay against your application. This guide is for household applicants in the Central DISCOM area, including Bhopal and Gwalior. It brings together the current identity options, purpose-specific test-report rules, dated cost examples and tracking steps. An estimate is not a final quotation or approval.

Check your DISCOM before applying

MPMKVVCL is Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited, also called Central DISCOM or MPCZ. Its portal describes its service area as the Bhopal, Hoshangabad (now Narmadapuram), Gwalior and Chambal commissionerates. The Indore-based West DISCOM and Jabalpur-based East DISCOM have different application systems.

Check the supplier for your exact property with the local electricity office or a neighbouring consumer's bill. Searching only for MPEB new connection can lead to the wrong company. If a connection already exists at the property, check whether a name change or load change is the appropriate service instead of requesting another meter.

These examples cover domestic supply, not agricultural pumps, business premises or temporary construction connections. For monthly bills after installation, use our MPMKVVCL tariff and bill calculator.

Saral Sanyojan, URJAS or UPAY: which one?

  • New LT applications: use Saral Sanyojan, linked from New Electricity Connection on the official MPMKVVCL website.
  • Old URJAS applications: the company website retains a separate Track/Pay for Old URJAS Portal Application link. Follow the route belonging to your existing application; do not start again simply because the portal name changed.
  • Mobile applicants: the company's consumer FAQ also lists UPAY. Use the official download link. The Saral Sanyojan homepage separately labels one app as being for field users; that is not the same as the consumer route.

If the direct portal does not load, return to the company website for its current link or contact the Zone/Distribution Centre (DC) office. Do not ignore a browser security warning or give documents to a similarly named unofficial website.

Identity and property documents: owners and tenants

On 8 September 2026, the live application starts with Individual or Organization. Individual applicants see Samagra ID, Aadhaar linked with Samagra, or PAN Number. Use the identity of the person who needs the connection, not a contractor's ID. The Samagra route asks for the member ID and name and includes a CAPTCHA.

The portal's applicant manual says PAN is required when proceeding without Samagra. Check fetched details before moving on, and keep access to your own mobile for application messages and agreement verification.

  • Owner: prepare accepted proof of ownership of the premises, as well as the applicant's identity details.
  • Tenant / lawful occupier: the portal FAQ allows ownership or occupancy evidence. Ask the Zone/DC which tenancy proof, owner consent or declaration is accepted in your case before arranging documents.
  • Organization: follow that applicant route; the company's document checklist includes authorization for company applicants.

Match the name and full service address across files. Upload complete, legible scans within the current form's file limits and retain the originals. An electricity connection does not establish property ownership or settle a tenancy dispute.

Is a wiring test report compulsory?

Not for every purpose. The general FAQ mentions a test report, but the live portal links a more specific required / not-required purpose list. On PDF page 1, Domestic light and fan (purpose ID 9) and Construction of own house (ID 10) are marked as not requiring a test report.

Other purposes do require one. For example, the list includes places of worship and old-age homes in its required section. Select the true purpose of your premises, not a different category to avoid paperwork. If your form still requests a report, ask the Zone/DC to resolve the mismatch against the current guideline before paying for one.

This upload exception does not waive electrical safety. Have a qualified electrician check the internal wiring, earthing and meter-board readiness. Where a report is required, the portal homepage provides a contractor list; confirm the applicable scope and fee.

Apply online: from identity check to acknowledgement

  1. Open Saral Sanyojan and select New Connection (LT). Choose the correct applicant type and complete the displayed identity verification.
  2. Enter the applicant, mobile and connection-location details. Check the relevant Zone/DC and indicate any required extension work accurately.
  3. Choose the purpose, permanent or temporary supply, load and phase, then upload the documents required for that application.
  4. Read the digital agreement and declarations. Keep a copy and complete the consent and OTP steps yourself only after checking the information.
  5. Save the application number and invoice. Follow the application's payment link when the amount is issued, and download the receipt.

The later steps follow the linked applicant manual. We inspected the public identity screen, calculator and tracking form, but did not submit a real application or complete identity verification. Screen labels can change. An acknowledgement or successful payment does not by itself mean the connection has passed verification.

Build the load request from your actual appliances. Discuss simultaneous use and phase with your electrician and the DISCOM. The portal has a load-assessment link; our sanctioned-load tool is also a useful starting point, but neither tool approves a connection.

MPMKVVCL new connection charges: 1, 2, 3 and 5 kW

These outputs were checked in the official New Connection Charges Calculator on 8 September 2026. Every row uses URBAN, LV1 - DOMESTIC, PERMANENT, Developed Legal Area and Supply Affording Charges including Infrastructure. The 5 kW example deliberately uses three-phase supply.

Portal estimates in rupees for these inputs, not universal connection prices
Load / phaseRegistrationMeter costSecurity depositSupply affordingTotal
1 kW / single4208011,6002,6005,421
2 kW / single4208013,2003,0007,421
3 kW / single4208014,8003,3009,321
5 kW / three2,5002,1928,0005,30017,992

Why another estimate may differ: rural premises, colony classification, load, phase, connection type and the infrastructure option can change the calculation. Do not select the excluding-infrastructure option merely to reduce the displayed total; confirm who must provide or fund that work. A colony's earlier electrification payment needs to be checked against the applicable category.

The displayed meter cost does not identify the meter model or prove your billing mode. Confirm the approved meter and payable deposit with the office. The demand/invoice for your application, applicable rules and any separately assessed work determine the actual payment. These totals do not include an independently hired electrician's charges and are not a promise that every property can be connected for that amount.

Supply-affording charges are part of establishing supply; they are not the monthly energy charge. Read our security-deposit guide to distinguish a deposit from consumption charges. Keep the dated estimate for comparison when your invoice is issued.

Pay the application invoice and keep the receipt

Check the applicant name, address, load, phase and every charge before paying. Use the payment link attached to your connection application, not an unrelated monthly-bill form. The applicant manual shows invoice details followed by a downloadable payment receipt.

Portal notice checked on 8 September 2026: it asks users not to make payments between 5:00 pm and 5:10 pm. Check the current notice before paying. Never transfer an application fee to a personal account or share your OTP or UPI PIN with someone offering to speed up the connection.

If money is debited without a receipt, keep the bank reference, time and application number. Ask support to trace the payment before trying again. A missing receipt does not establish that the debit failed. For a charge you do not understand, request an itemised explanation from the Zone/DC and retain the response.

Track the application and correct rejected documents

Open Track Application, choose NEW SERVICE CONNECTION (NSC), then choose a search method. The current form offers application number, mobile number or consumer number. Use your application number or registered mobile before a consumer number is available.

The manual explains that when a document is incorrect or unreadable, you can select View to identify the rejected file and replace that document. Read the actual objection first, correct only what is requested and save the resubmission acknowledgement.

  • Payment missing: attach the invoice and transaction receipt to your follow-up and ask which payment entry remains unmatched.
  • Survey or extension pending: ask what work is required, its estimate, responsible office and expected completion date.
  • Paid but no meter: ask whether approval, meter allocation or installation is pending. Do not create a duplicate application.

These are practical follow-up situations, not a complete list of the portal's status labels. Keep the application, corrected files, receipts and dated responses together.

Smart meters, extension work and connection timelines

The 19 August 2025 smart-meter NSC circular distinguishes offices where the smart-meter workflow is active from those using the existing process. In active areas, document checks, clearance and survey precede meter allocation and installer assignment. Ask your office which workflow applies.

The portal FAQ lists 3 working days at divisional headquarters, 5 in other urban areas and 7 in rural areas, conditional on correct details and feasibility after survey. The smart-meter circular separately directs completion within 3 days in its covered workflow. These are not an unconditional promise for every incomplete or network-extension application.

Ask the office to confirm the date your application became complete, the applicable current deadline and any exception. For regulatory requirements, check MPERC's current supply code and service standards. Record any extra line, pole or colony-electrification work separately. Have the approved service-cable and meter-board arrangements confirmed before purchasing materials.

Where to follow up and what to check on the first bill

Start with the Zone/DC or office handling your application. The official portal gives 1912, 0755-2551222 and 1800-233-1912 for assistance. Keep your application number ready and request a complaint reference, the pending action and a completion date.

For an unresolved grievance, follow the applicable Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum and Ombudsman process; MPERC lists the Central DISCOM's forum route. Our complaint guide helps organise supporting records. A complaint does not automatically grant a connection or waive charges.

After installation, save the consumer/IVRS number, meter serial number, initial reading, date and sanctioned load. Check these against the first bill and our MPMKVVCL tariff page. For help understanding a bill or demand notice, submit it for free document and bill review. TheDiscomBill is independent of the DISCOM; we cannot issue a connection or replace an official complaint.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I apply for an MPMKVVCL new electricity connection?
Use the official Saral Sanyojan portal and select New Connection (LT). First confirm your address belongs to the Central DISCOM, not the Indore or Jabalpur DISCOM. Old URJAS applications have a separate tracking and payment route on the company website.
Can I apply without a Samagra ID?
The portal manual provides a PAN route when Samagra is unavailable. The checked individual-applicant screen offers Samagra ID, Aadhaar linked with Samagra, and PAN Number. Use your own valid identity details and follow the current verification steps.
Is a test report mandatory for a domestic connection?
Not for every purpose. The portal-specific guideline marks Domestic light and fan, purpose ID 9, as not requiring a test report. Other purposes require one. Confirm the selected purpose and any conflicting upload request with the Zone/DC; safe wiring is still essential.
How much does an MPMKVVCL 2 kW new connection cost?
On 8 September 2026, the official calculator returned Rs 7,421 for urban, permanent LV1 domestic, single-phase supply in a Developed Legal Area with infrastructure-inclusive supply-affording charges. Different premises, phases or work requirements can change the total; use your application invoice for the actual amount.
Can a tenant apply for a new connection?
The official guidance recognises a lawful occupier as well as an owner. Ask the Zone/DC which occupancy proof, consent or declaration is accepted for your case. The electricity connection does not establish ownership of the property.
How can I check status or replace a rejected document?
Open Track Application, choose NEW SERVICE CONNECTION (NSC), and search with your application number or registered mobile. The manual directs applicants to View the rejected document and upload its corrected replacement. Keep the acknowledgement and follow up on the same application.
