What changed from 1 July 2026

CSERC's new order covers CSPDCL's retail tariff for FY 2026-27 under the FY 2026-30 control period. The headline number is an average increase, so it does not mean every slab or every household bill rises by exactly 6.23%.

Your final bill still depends on consumption slab, sanctioned load, category, taxes or duty, and any subsidy applied separately by the state government.

The first two fixed-charge bands stayed the same, but the top band changed: above 10 kW, the domestic fixed charge moved from ₹40/kW/month to ₹50/kW/month.

  • LV-2.3 EV charging: ₹7.13/unit with no fixed charge in the schedule.

Why your bill may rise less than the headline

The 6.23% figure is a system-wide average. A low-consumption domestic user, a household receiving a subsidy, a shop on a higher commercial slab, and an EV charging point will all see different rupee impacts.

Media reports also noted continuing relief for eligible domestic users, including BPL-linked support and state subsidy for many households up to 400 units. Those subsidies are applied separately on the bill, so the gross tariff and the amount you finally pay may differ.

Use your latest CSPDCL bill and compare three items: total units, sanctioned load, and consumer category. Then apply the slab rates above, add the fixed charge, and remember that taxes or electricity duty are charged separately.
