All 3 DISCOMs in Andhra Pradesh bill on the same schedule, set by the state regulator — so the rates below apply whichever company serves you.

LT-I (Domestic)

Supply typeEnergy chargeFixed chargeDuty & other
LT-I (Domestic)
  • 0 – 30 units₹1.90/unit
  • 30 – 75 units₹3.00/unit
  • 75 – 125 units₹4.50/unit
  • 125 – 225 units₹6.00/unit
  • 225 – 400 units₹8.75/unit
  • Above 400 units₹9.75/unit
₹10/kW/mo
  • Electricity Duty₹0.06/unit

ℹ️ Andhra Pradesh domestic supply is telescopic — the order labels the category "Domestic (Telescopic)" — so 200 units bills 30 at ₹1.90, 45 at ₹3.00, 50 at ₹4.50 and 75 at ₹6.00, not all 200 at the top rate. The fixed charge is a flat ₹10/kW/month whatever the slab. The step from ₹6.00 to ₹8.75 at 226 units is the sharpest in the schedule, so a household sitting just under 225 units pays heavily for the next unit. APERC's schedule is the tariff alone; electricity duty and any other State levies are notified separately and are charged on your bill in addition to the figures here.

LT-II (Commercial & Others)

  • 300 – 500 units₹9.60/unit
  • Above 500 units₹10.15/unit
₹75/kW/mo

II-A(iii) — Function halls / auditoriums
  • Above 0 units₹12.25/unit
₹0/mo
II-C — Electric vehicle charging stations
  • Above 0 units₹6.70/unit
₹0/mo

Who each rate applies to

II-A(i) — Commercial
Shops, offices and general commercial supply. Fixed charge ₹75/kW/month, billed on kWh (or kVAh where a kVAh meter is installed).
II-A(ii) — Advertising hoardings
A single rate on all units, on a heavier ₹100/kW/month fixed charge.
II-A(iii) — Function halls / auditoriums
Flat ₹12.25/unit on all units, with no fixed charge at LT.
II-C — Electric vehicle charging stations
Flat ₹6.70/unit with no fixed charge — the cheapest rate in the commercial schedule, and well under the ₹9–10 a shop pays at the same consumption.

ℹ️ The commercial ladder is telescopic across five slabs from ₹5.40 to ₹10.15, on a ₹75/kW/month fixed charge. APERC sets separate rates for advertising hoardings, function halls, startup power, green power and EV charging; the ones modelled here are selectable above. Commercial supply is billed on kVAh wherever a kVAh meter is installed, so a poor power factor raises the units you are charged for. APERC's schedule is the tariff alone; electricity duty and any other State levies are notified separately and are charged on your bill in addition to the figures here.

LT-V (Agricultural / Irrigation Pump Sets)

Supply typeEnergy chargeFixed chargeDuty & other
LT-V (Agricultural / Irrigation Pump Sets)
  • Above 0 units₹0.00/unit
₹0/mo

ℹ️ Free supply to agricultural consumers under the Government of Andhra Pradesh scheme; the DISCOM is reimbursed by subsidy. Supply hours are limited, so a pump set connection is not metered-and-billed the way a domestic one is.

Wrong bill in Andhra Pradesh? Where to complain

Complain in this order and keep the complaint number at every step. Skipping a step is the commonest reason a genuine billing complaint is returned unheard.

StepWhere it goesWhat you need
1. DISCOM complaint deskAPSPDCL · APCPDCL · APEPDCL, or the 24×7 helpline 1912Consumer number, bill number, the one disputed line, and a meter photo
2. Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF)Your DISCOM's forum, constituted under APERC regulationsThe first complaint number, and what the DISCOM did or failed to do about it
3. Electricity OmbudsmanThe Ombudsman appointed by APERCThe CGRF order, or proof the forum missed its deadline

Two deadlines worth knowing. Under the central Electricity Rights of Consumers Rules a grievance should normally be decided within 30 days and in any case within 45. And if the paper you received is an assessment under Section 126 for unauthorised use rather than an ordinary bill, it does not go to the CGRF at all — it is appealed to the Appellate Authority under Section 127, usually within 30 days.
